Pitt Community College Starts Health IT Training Program

Pitt Community College will start training classes for health IT practitioners at the end of this month. Pitt pitt_logoCommunity College is one of the five institutions across the United States that lead a regional consortium of community colleges to promote health IT by providing training for thousands of new health information technology professionals. The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has awarded the consortium $10.9 million as a federal fund for the first year. Funding for the second year will be available after successful completion of a mid-project evaluation. The funding provides support for the Pitt Community College consortia consisting of 20 community colleges, including Central Piedmont Community College and Catawba Valley Community College across a 13-state region.
