PET And Flutemetamol To Detect Alzheimer’s, Study

Alzheimer’s disease is one of the conditions that are very difficult to diagnose early, this is because there is no certain imaging procedure that can be used for detecting the disease. However, a new study shows that this fact may be changed soon. The study included using Positron Emitting Tomography (PET) and a new imaging agent, flutemetamol, which was designed by GE Healthcare, for detection of Alzheimer’s disease. The findings of the study are highlighted in the September issue of the Annals of Neurology.
