Cellerant Signs A Contract For Treatment Against Acute Radiation Syndrome.

Cellerant Therapeutics Inc., a major biotechnology company from San Carlos, California, announced that it has signed a five-year contract with the Biomedical Advanced Research Cellerantand Development Authority (BARDA). The contract’s value is up to $153 million, and according to it, Cellerant is going to design a cellular therapy addressing Acute Radiation Syndrome. Cellerant will get about $63.3 million during the first couple of years of the new contract. The company is going to have another $89.9 million during the following three years. The contract has been signed with the Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority in the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response of the Department of Health and Human Services. It comes following another contract signed in 2008.
