New Funds For Cancer Research In Ontario

The President and Scientific Director of the Ontario Institute for Cancer Research (OICR), Dr. Tom Hudson, and radiotherapy_devicePresident and CEO of Cancer Care Ontario (CCO), Dr. Terrence Sullivan, announced that a funding of $6 million is now available to support projects in the Health Services Research Program (HSRP). The latter is recent result to cooperation between the OICR and CCO, and is going to enhance cancer care service in Ontario. Dr. Hudson commented "This funding will provide Ontario's researchers with the support they need to ensure that the delivery of cancer care in the province is continually improving," he continued "Additionally, we hope to provide a benchmark for other jurisdictions, specifically in important areas such as women's cancer survivorship." Based on HSRP, the Women's Cancer Survivorship Team is going to have funds of more than $800,000. The team will use the fund to continue their researches about the effects of cancer drug therapy in long-term.
