Philips Healthcare, a major company providing diagnostic imaging system and healthcare IT solutions, announced that it has acquired Shanghai Apex Electronics philipsTechnology, a company manufacturing ultrasound transducers based in Shanghai, China. Philips Healthcare aims to establish a strong position for itself in the ultrasound emerging markets such as China.

Alert Clinic Is Available Now At Alaska’s SEARHC

Alert, a healthcare IT solutions provider from Portugal, announced that it has finished its first installation in the United alertStates, following the implementation of its Alert Clinic solution in the SouthEast Alaska Regional Health Consortium (SEARHC). The Consortium is now the first healthcare organization in the U.S to use Alert Clinic software solution at its Ethel Lund Medical Center, in Juneau, Alaska.

GE Healthcare Opens Its First Factory In Brazil

GE Healthcare, a global leading company providing diagnostic imaging and healthcare IT solution, announced that it has GEopened its first factory in Brazil, also the first in South America, in order to provide the Brazilian population with more affordable healthcare technologies, in addition to establishing a exportation center in South America. The factory is located in the Brazilian city of Contagem. It involved planned investments of $50 million during a ten-year period.

iSoft Signs A New Deal With ZNB Group In The Netherlands

iSoft, a major healthcare IT solutions provider from Australia, announced that it has signed a contract with Zorggroep isoftlogoNoorderbreedte (ZNB), a major healthcare group in the Netherlands, in order to improve hospital information system (HIS) and electronic patient record at the Medisch Centrum Leeuwarden (MCL), one of ZNB’s largest teaching hospitals in the country. The contract is worth €3.45 million, it will take place for three years.

iSoft Signs New Deals In Germany

iSoft, a major Australian company providing healthcare IT solutions, announced that it has signed five new deals with isoftlogohospitals in Germany, the recently signed deals worth nearly €3.9 million. The hospitals include Stadtklinik Frankenthal and Rudolf Virchow hospital at Glauchau, they are going to use isoft’s ClinicCentre hospital information system (HIS). The hospitals will start using the system by January 2011. As per the signed deals, iSoft is going to provide maintenance and support services during the next five years.
