GE Healthcare And MTL Produce First Russia's Domestically Assembled CT Scanner
GE Healthcare and its Russian manufacturing partner Meditsinskie technologii Ltd (MTL) have announced the first
Russia's domestically assembled CT scanner. This accomplishment represents an important forward step in the business future for both GE Healthcare and MTL because it is expected that the annual domestic Russian CT market could exceed 1.5 billion rubles (US$49 million).

GE’s Centricity EMR Donated To The University of Texas
GE Healthcare, A global leading company providing medical imaging systems and healthcare IT solutions, announced that it has recently donated its Electronic Medical Record
(EMR) solution, Centricity, to the University of Texas at Austin (UTA). By providing the solution, GE aims to help the UTA in training its students through the University’s health information technology program. GE’s Centricity is used by UTA in its Health Information Technology Learning Laboratory, and the attending students are awarded certificates following the end of the UTA’s health information technology program. GE aims, by donating Centricity, to increase the knowledge of primary care physicians about healthcare IT applications. Jim Corrigan, vice president and general manager of GE Healthcare IT, said “We never flinch before agreeing to an investment like this. It’s an investment in the future of our industry and in the young minds that will shape it.” GE provided UTA with Centricity Advance, which is an online EMR solution developed for offering practice to primary care physicians. The solution is delivered as a web-based, Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) application.

University Of Texas Receives Web-Based EMR From GE
University of Texas at Austin will be given the latest platform from Barrington, Ill., GE Healthcare, to be used for
educational purposes, as announced by GE. The Health Information Technology Summer Certificate Program at the University has just graduated its first class, which included 54 students, at the end of July. These students used GE Centricity Advance software in the University’s recently established Health Information Technology Learning Laboratory in the Clinical Education Center University Medical Center Brackenridge.

GE to Develop Pediatric MRI Systems

opened its first factory in Brazil, also the first in South America, in order to provide the Brazilian population with more affordable healthcare technologies, in addition to establishing a exportation center in South America. The factory is located in the Brazilian city of Contagem. It involved planned investments of $50 million during a ten-year period.
